Way back when, in a little southern town where we grew
up, there was a place that served hotdogs and of course they had coleslaw
and chili on them. As we grew older and moved out and on we never
forgot those hotdogs. I joined the military, married my sweetheart
and started the life of a military family.
We traveled all around the world, moved 11 times in those 21 years
with good ol’ Uncle Sam. But during that time we still never
forgot those hotdogs. When we were back in the States we would have
family and friends freeze them and send them to us. And we always
ate there when we were back home. After we retired we always said
one day we were going to start a hotdog joint and serve those same
hotdogs the same way. Well, who knew the producer didn’t have
sales people in the West and didn’t ship past the good ol’
Mississippi River. After years of tracking down the production plant
and negotiating with them, we finally got them to ship to us in Colorado.
We’re happy to say we are the only ones who have this particular
dog from back East. It’s taken us close to 8 years of steadily
pressing to get to this point and now we are not chasing the dream
anymore, we’re living it!
You remember things from back home when you were growing up that you
miss? Well, this is one of those for us. We sure hope you like them
as much as we do. Feel free to stop on by, grab a glass of tea or
Coke and just sit and talk!
